Title: "Categorification of quantum algebras, their representations and knot invariants"

Abstract: In my talk I will explain the notion of categorification and give a brief overview of the categorification of quantum algebras in type A, due to Khovanov and Lauda (and Rouquier), and the corresponding knot polynomials, the so called Khovanov-Rozansky knot homologies.

I will focus on the diagrammatic approach, which uses Khovanov-Lauda diagrams for the quantum algebras and foams for the knot homologies, and show how they are related. I will only sketch the main ideas and not zoom in on any technicalities.
