It is unquestionable the relevance of Mathematics in HealthCare Services. This is clear when we think of scheduling or logistic problems in hospitals, or the statistic analysis of medical information. The fast growth of healthcare expenses turns urgent the need to create innovative solutions, some of which can only be addressed by mathematical knowledge.
NOVA University, through its NOVAHealth programme, has strategically promoted collaborative research among NOVA’s academic units, as well as with external partners from Science, Industry, and Society. Its mission is to create value in healthcare by science production, innovative solutions, and knowledge dissemination.
The Mathematics Department, in collaboration with the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (through its Teaching and research Unit in International Public Health and Biostatistics), is offering a Master in Statistics for Health.
