Rogério Martins was nominated for the Raising Public Awareness of Mathematics Committee of EMS

The CMA member Rogério Martins was nominated to be a member between 2019-2022, of the Committee for Raising Public Awareness of Mathematics of the European Mathematical Society.

The remit of the Committee for Raising Public Awareness of Mathematics is:

1. to encourage and inspire actions directed towards raising public awareness of the importance of mathematics for contemporary society in a cultural and historical perspective;
2. to assist in the furtherance of concerted actions with other European or international organizations and societies in matters of raising public awareness of science and technology and other important aspects of society with a strong component of mathematics.
